Get expert support with your Fibre connection.

Hi, I have been a TalkTalk Customer since before it was renamed TalkTalk and have in general been happy with the odd exception of trying to converse with the help desk.
My Fibre 65 contract is expiring in a month and I am considering either the 500 or 900Mb Full Fibre package, which is shown as being available to me as an upgrade option. I personallyy think there maybe a difficulty in getting the cable to the house and the stock answer frustratingly from all providers is "Openreach engineer will advise"
In order to avoid creating a saga! my query is this:
The incoming current line enters the house from the front Hall and terminates with a NTE5C Box with a Mk4 plate, the phone runs as a std connection from that and will be discarded if we can upgrade, the Data network is hard wired from the BT side of the box via a CAT6 external cable routed under the eves to the back of the house and into an internal RJ45 socket, which then has the current TalkTal Modem connected with Desktops and Printer subsequently connected by Ethernet (Kids Gaming!!} Wifi then feeds the Laptops and Smart TV etc in the rest of the house (generally ok with 1 WiFi extender but the TV will drag things , hence the upgrade)
The reason it is set up like this is because the bring in the existing phone line to the back of the house was not an option because of Landscaped paths?walls etc.
So my queries are:
(1) I want to keep the Ethernet Option at the rear of the house and require at least 4 connections!
{2} Improve the WiFi around the house especially for Smart TV[s).
Looking at the 900Mb package it has a Mesh packkage but will that give me the Ethernet connections at the back of the house or do I need to do something else? The 500mb offer is one router, is there anyway I can use the existing CAT6 cable set up with whatever hardware is necessary, if so what. On that tac, or should I buy an external grade Fibre Optic extension cable {What type} and run from the incoming front Cable box to the rear and connect the Router at the back of the house and would the standard supplied router need something else to give me the ethernet ports?
Sorry if its a bit long winded.

Hi,
I'm not sure that TalkTalk will be able to answer all your queries as it's not them that will install the connection, but as you are aware, their chosen partner in your area.
Normally the connection to your home and the positioning of the ONT box will be discussed to suit you on the day, so it may be possible to run the cable round the outside of the home to your chosen point of entry.
From my own personal experience, my cable now comes from the pole and from the bracket on the front of the house runs around the front ,down the side to a room at the back of the property.
As said you will probably only know on the day how it will come into your home and where it can be run to, but where possible it should be run to accommodate your requirements.
Once the connection is made to your home, how you run the network internally, will be your responsibility
Hopes this helps, and as said this is based on my own experience with Openreach.
