New Fibre 65 Router fitting by Engineer - has resulted in lousy TV

The place that the engineer has fitted our new router is just not working well for our TV. He chose the easiest spot as far as he was concerned (we think) but the signal in our lounge through a cupboard under the stairs and 2 room walls has resulted in endless problems (which we never had before) with the TV. The new router is downstairs (formerly upstairs and with no problems at all) on a small table about 2 feet high (although it could go onto a windowsill but that would be in full sun). This is very annoying as you can imagine - most times we cannot even get the iPlayer to work. If we are in the TV room with an iPad, the iPlayer works perfectly. Can you recommend a booster for this problem please. It is very annoying - seems as if the engineers just prefer to do the easiest job regardless of the end result. Many thanks if you have suggestions to help.

Hi @Doggy2

I can help with all Wi-Fi issues. Putting a router on a windowsill is a very bad place, not just because it will overheat. You say that it is on a two-foot-high table, but which room is this? Is it in the cupboard that you mention or out in the open? What is around it in terms of electronic equipment, large metal objects, glass or tanks of water? Which router do you have?
