Fairly regularly I have transferred photos from my Iphone to my desktop Outlook using the Iphone Mail App using my TalkTalk POP Acccount. A couple of days ago I tried to send a photo in the normal way using medium scaling to my email address. After a while I found it had not been received in Outlook. I tried again with the smallest scaling but this was not received. I found both in the Mail Sent items folder even though they had not been sent but they were in the Outbox folder. I tried sending again from both the Sent and Outbox folders.
I have tried various fixes through Google including deldeting my Mail Account on my Iphone 14 (with latest update) and running the Microsoft Outlook online repair (latest update. I have now found that Outlook does not receive test Emails from Iphone Mail nor does Mail receive a test email from Outlook which Outlook doesn't receive itself.
I have also installed TalkTalk settings in my Ipod 7 which has the same photos as my Iphone with the same result as my Iphone.
Could there be somethig in my email settings that has caused this to start happening?

Hi Fez,
Sorry for delay in replying but I was still searching for a solution to my Send Photo from Iphone Mail problem. I have partly found a part solution. When I go to send a photo I am offered three scaled down versions from the original, Small, Medium and Large, and the original unscaled photo. Before this problem arose I always used the Medium version. The scaled versions depend on the size and content of the original. I can also crop and scale a photo to a smaller size before sending it to the Mail app for further scaling if necessary. However by trial and error I have found the Medium scaling is too much and sometimes the Small scaled photo. Although not perfectly satisfactory I will work with this while looking for a slution, possibly via Microsoft and Apple.
As if this wasn't enough, after uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook, to my dismay I found the Junk Email options, Safe Sender, Safe recipient and most importantly Block Senders List were all empty. Googling I found that this was a Microsoft problem from 10 years ago and the best solution was to use a backup or fill them up again manually. THe Block Senders List had been compiled over many years and several versions of Outlook. I did have an Outlook backup but this was missing too. Fortunately my PC was upto date with my laptop so I Exported the Blocked Senders List from the Outlook in my PC and Imported it successfully to the Outlook in my laptop.
So thank you and your colleagues for your support even though it wasn't TalkTalk Issues.

Thank you so much for getting back to me, so now we have only one issue to focus on, which is sending photos from Mail to Outlook, is that correct?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple Mail App and uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook. Although sending emails from Mail to Outlook works fine, there is still the same problem sending photos from Mail to Outlook. some more Googling and see if there is anything on the Apple Community or refer to Apple.
Thanks for your help

Hi there, thank you for getting back to us, we are so sorry for this kind of experience, have you tried to uninstall then reinstall the Mail App and then delete and reinstall the Outlook Mail Settings?

Yes Outlook 365 is part of the Microsoft 365 Suite. They are not synchronised in the Cloud. Only the data which has been sent or received and filed away under Documents or Pictures are synched with the Cloud. The Iphone has a Mail App which you set up with the same Email address and Account Settings as the Outlook 365 Account as supplied by TalkTalk. I have just had to delete my Iphone Mail Account as it kept getting stuck in sending. So when I reinstalled the Mail account I was hoping this would have cured the problem, but it hadn’t and when I tried sending a photo it just went to the OutBox . So I tried forcing it to send from the Outbox I got the Message “Cannot Send Mail.” I found that I had not added my account password in the Outgoing Mail server. I did that and then tried to send the message from the OutBox which cleared the Outbox butScreen Shot from IPhone Mail it just went to the Sent Folders along with other test messages that hadn’t been sent.
Enclosed is a screenshot of the template you complete when sending a photo as a Mail message. I sent it as a WhatsApp message to WhatsApp on my laptop then copied it from there to this reply. It is normally a very simple procedure to Mail a photo. First select a photo from my Iphone Library then select how you want to send it from the options on the template, Mail in this case, insert my email address in the field, the CC/BCC From field is preselected, insert a subject and send. And that is what I have been doing for years with no problems – until now!
Next, following suggestions on Google, I am going to uninstall and reinstall the Mail App and then delete and reinstall the Outlook Mail settings.

Hi, @Arandora
I don't use Outlook 365. I have used, and sometimes I might still use 'new Outlook for Windows'
I thought Outlook 365 is part of Microsoft 365, including all the other Microsoft programs, and that they are all synchronised via the Microsoft cloud and on all your devices. So, are you saying, that your emails end up in your laptop, and nowhere else, apart from when you manually transfer them to your PC? What I can't understand is how you can send an email from your Iphone, without having an email address to send from.
Edit: When you send your email with a photo from your Iphone, what appears in the From field and in the To field?

There are three devices at the moment, my Win 11 laptop, my Win 11 PC and my Ipod 7. They are each configured with the same POP settings both on Outlook 365 for my laptop and my PC. I used the same POP settings in the Apple Mail app on my Iphone 14 and Iphone6 which with my Ipod. I only added a couple of days ago as the Mail setup on an Ipod is exactly the same as an Iphone . I used the POP settings from the Talktalk website to test if there was thre same problem and there was so I have deleted the Mail account. I resurrected my old iPhone 6 as it had the same Mail POP settings from when I got my new Iphone 14 and it too had the same problem so I have disabled it .
This leaves me with my laptop and my PC with Outlook 365 and my Iphone with the latest IOS 18.5 update, all with the same POP email settings and attempting to send photos via the Mail app as I have been doing with no problems for years until this problem arose ofter the last photos I transferred on 31st May. I sed to be able to transfer photos on the Medium scaled down setting but that won't work even on the Small setting. Both are well within the Outlook maximum for sending and receiving. I don't recall doing anything on my laptop to change Outlook or my Iphone.
I don't use Imap or the new Outlook as I prefer POP desktop Outlook as both have stood me in good stead for many years. I don't recall anywhere seing you can only use the same POP account on one device. As I say over the years I have changed my PC and several laptops and all have had the same POP account and email address with no problem until 31st May. PC and laptop act independently of each other and Outlook data cannot be synchronised. I use my PC very much as a backup for my laptop data by copying the Outlook.pst folder from my laptop to the PC Outlook.pst folder. Only at this point is Outlook data the same on both devices. The two devices are on a network so I can share data one to/from the other.
I hope perhaps explains the situation better than my previous replies

Hi, @Arandora
You have told us that you are using 3 devices, windows PC with Outlook email app, and an Iphone 14 and Ipod 7, presumably with Apple Email apps.
I am still not sure if there is just 1 email address involved, e.g. a @talktalk.net address or a @tiscali.co.uk address.
If there is just 1 email address involved, and that address is set as a POP account, then I can't see how you can communicate properly between all those devices using that same email address.
When a POP email account receives an email from somewhere, it would normally be downloaded immediately after one of those devices connects to that email account. The email would then be immediately deleted at the server, and would therefore not be available on any of the other devices.
To be available on the other devices as well, using a single email address, I believe you need to create the account as an IMAP email account, on all 3 devices.
I haven't used a POP account for a long time. But I believe that is one of the main differences between POP accounts and IMAP accounts. I.E. a POP email account should be used only on one device.
The following are the settings on the devices, to set a TalkTalk account as an IMAP email account any or all of those devices:
Incoming email server mail.talktalk.net Port 993
Outgoing email server smtp.talktalk.net Port 587
Edit: the reason why this works, is that after emails are downloaded by any of those devices, the emails remain on the server and not deleted, and are still available for download by other devices.

Thank you for your response, please do follow the following steps for me:
Open Settings: On your iPhone 14 or iPod 7, go to the Settings app.
Mail Accounts: Scroll down and tap on Mail, then select Accounts.
Add Account: Tap on Add Account and choose Other since TalkTalk is not listed.
Add Mail Account: Under the "Mail" section, tap on Add Mail Account.
Enter Your Information: Fill in your name, email address, password, and a description for the account (e.g., TalkTalk).
Choose POP: When prompted to choose between IMAP and POP, select POP.
Incoming Mail Server Settings:
Outgoing Mail Server Settings:
Save: After entering all the details, tap Next. The device will verify the settings. If everything is correct, you should see a checkmark next to each field.
Finish Setup: Once verified, tap Save to complete the setup.
If you encounter any errors during this process, please double-check your email address and password for accuracy. Additionally, ensure that your internet connection is stable.

Hi Fez
Sorry for not getting back earlier, I have been out most of the day. I thought I had found the problem and the solution but sadly It did not work. What I did was bring an old Iphone 6 Plus out of mothballs. Since I have used my current Email adress from when I first joined TalkTalk many years ago and had not had any problems like this on either the old Iphone or the new Iphone 14 until this occurred on 31st May, I thought I would try to replicate it on the old Iphone. When I did the same problem occurred. So I checked its Settings against those from the TalkTalk website and found that the Server Port for Incoming Mail Settings was set at 110 (an old Setting) instead of 995. After changing this I checked all the Settings against the TalkTalk Settings and they were as they are now. I then tried sending a photo to my Mail Account, which Is the problem I had been having, on my current Iphone and it worked although only with the Small scaled image. Nevertheless the image was delivered to the Mail folder on my old Iphone AND to Outlook Inbox.
I then went to the Settings on my new Iphone and compared them to those on my old Iphone and found that the Incoming Mail Server Port was also set as 110 instead of 995. The explanation for this was I Googled my problem and found a recommendation to delete the Mail Account and reinstall it and it gave the POP 3 settings which contained the 110 setting. Having found this discrepancy today after using the official TalkTalk Setting of 995 I hoped this would solve the problem or at least have the same effect as the old Iphone. But it didn't. Mails sent from my Iphone 14 to the Mail App go to the Sent folder and stick there.
So I would like to take you up on your offer to go through the Settings in case there is something which prevents the photos being delivered.

I am not using an Apple Email Account on either my Iphone 14 or my Ipod 7. I am using TalkTalk POP as my Mail provider. I do this by following the Mail Set Up wizard on both to Add a new account. I am first provided with a list of providers which doesn't include TalkTak so I Choose "Other". When Put the TalkTalk setings in at first it says an Imap account has been set up. I don't accept this and then go to a page with Imap and POP on top. I chose POP and proceeded to enter my TalkTalk POP details and these were accepted on both devices.
This is what I followed.
"To set up a mail account on an iPhone 14, navigate to Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts, then tap "Add Account" and select your email provider. Enter your email address and password, and follow the prompts, which may involve tapping "Next" or "Save" depending on your provider.
"If you need to set up your email account manually, make sure you know the email settings for your account. If you don’t know them, you can look them up or contact your email provider. Then follow these steps: ...............
........Choose IMAP or POP for your new account. If you're not sure which one to choose, contact your email provider."

Hi nambuso-tt
Sorry for delay in replying. I have just tried sending an email to myself from my webmail account with a photo enclosure and another with no enclosure. As with the others, the subject of my post, neither webmail was delivered to Outlook or my Iphone Mail. They are in the Sent Folder but have not been sent.
Whilst I deleted TalkTalk settings from Iphone Mail settings, I have not done that with my TalkTalk Mail settings on Outlook. I will try that now in case there is anything awry in them. I have run a repair on the Outlook mail settings and there was no problem identified. I have also run a Microsft online on Outlook again and again nothing identified.
It seems there is blockage on the receiving side of the Outlook mail that is stopping emails between Outlook and my Iphone and webmail.

Hi, @Arandora
'using the Iphone Mail App using my TalkTalk POP Account'
That's a bit ambiguous @Arandora
Do you use an Apple email account on your Iphone 14?
(You can' t use your TalkTalk email account on your Iphone 14,
if your TalkTalk email account is a POP account.)
I hope it's your Apple email account which is on your Iphone 14.
And then, 'I have also installed TalkTalk settings in my Ipod 7'.
Your TalkTalk email account is a POP account. How can you do that?

Hi there Arandora. I am very sorry to hear that as you have mentioned that you are unable to transfer photos when are using outlook. Just to confirm, have you tried sending photos using webmail?
