Router keeps dropping some devices and not letting them reconnect

My router keep dropping certain devices not letting them reconnect.  It does it multiple times in a day - usually sky box, my printer & car charger.  Switching router off and on sorts it out but I have to do this multiple times a day.  A factory reset of the router seemed to fix the problem for a week but then it happened again.

Online technical chat is useless - they either want to sell me a signal booster or upgrade my service to get a better router.

I don't believe it is a wifi signal issue - if it was why would devices connect back up as soon as router is switched back on ?.  Printer is only a couple of metres from router so I certainly gets a good signal.

Lots of other posts have a similar problem and they got new router which appears to fix the problem  but nobody I chatted to was prepared to provide a new router.

I'm glad to hear you've managed to get a new router! Here are some tips to try if you experience any dropouts:

  • Ensure that all connections are secure.
  • Restart your router.
  • Turn off your router for 20 minutes.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it may be due to stability or equipment problems. In that case, we recommend contacting our Tech Support Team using the information provided below.

Thanks for the new Router.  It's been stable since installed with no dropouts.

Before I swapped routers I used a wifi signal app to see what was happening.  When the old router dropped 3 devices it was not broadcasting any 2.4g signal.  Other devices continued to work as they were either hardwired into the router or were on 6g signal.

I went into router settings and router was not reporting any issues.

Could this be caused by something interfering with the signal ?.

I only ask this incase it happens again with the new router.

Thanks
