Slow Upload Speed

Good Morning,

I have Fibre 65 but my ulpoad speed seems to be limited to ADSL.

I have a good download speed to the Router of >50Mbs a second, but my upload speed is only 0.8Mbs I have been trying to get this resolved for a couple of weeks now, my router has been reset several times and the data connection reset by talk talk but the upload speed has not improved.

This is making working from home almost impossible, I cannot upload files to the office and also struggle on Teams Calls.

Thanks for looking into this

Hello,

Ok, no problem and thanks for confirming. If the line is clear of any noise, then we can arrange an engineer visit to the property as 2 different routers have been tested at the test socket.

Thanks

Thanks,

This is the only thing on the phone line, router plugged directly into the mirofilter which is plugged into the test point of the master socket, there is nothing else connected to the line.

I will try and loan a phone if possibe, earliest for that would be tomorrow evening.

Thanks again

Hello,

Thanks for confirming. Would it be possible to borrow a phone for testing purposes to rule this out, as noise on the line can affect the broadband connection? Can I just confirm, what equipment do you have connected to the line as well as the router?

Thanks

Morning Thanks for checking,

Yes I replaced everything with the new parts which came with the new router. It is still plugged in the test point. I do not have a home telephone so cannot check for noise on the line.

What are the next steps?

Thanks

Morning,

Thanks for the update and I'll re-check the connection stats now. The line test is still clear, however I can see that the upstream sync speed is varying quite a bit. Is there any noise on the voice service? Is the router still connected at the test socket? When you connected the new router, did you also replace the cables and use the new microfilter?

Thanks

Good Morning,

Apologies my reply from yesterday morning didn't post and I have been working away for a few days.

The new router has been up and running for 1 day now, when it was first plugged in it had an upload speed of 12Mbs but this has dropped to 4.2Mbs this morning

Thanks for your assistance with this

Hi zzzzzzz

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Morning,

Thanks for confirming. Would you like us to send a replacement router and microfilter to see how this compares and to rule this out? We would also send a router returns bag so that one of the routers can be returned.

Thanks

Morning,

I've re-checked the connection stats now and the upstream speed has not changed. Just to confirm, is the router still connected to the test socket since your last post?

Thanks

Hi zzzzzzz

Thanks for confirming this.

Would it be ok to leave the router at the test socket for 48hrs (without rebooting) to allow DLM time to monitor the connection and adjust the profile/speed.

OK the router is connected to the test point

It is still showing a upload speed of 0.8Mbs

Hi zzzzzzz

The bottom master socket in the photos should have a test socket underneath the face plate.

We had issues a couple of years ago and the BT engineer changed our wiring the open box shows the first socket is not wired in which has the test point, this goes to a new master socket also shown in a second picture.

The Router is plugged directly into the new master socket, will this also have an internal test point.

We do not have a home phone so cannot check if the line sounds clear.

Morning,

Thank you. I've run a test on the line which is clear. Does your main socket have a test socket please? If it does then would it be possible to connect the microfilter, router and phone directly at the test socket so we can see if DLM makes any changes to the upload speed? Is the voice service also ok with no noise on the line?

Thanks
