IoT is Internet of Things, @Keithios, so smart gadgets that use the Internet in the home.

To receive a PM, check your avatar, top right and if there's a number there, click and you'll see whether it's just a mention  / like, or whether it is hovering over the message envelope. Click there to open your message.

To send a PM, click on the person's name / avatar and you'll be taken to the public version of their profile from which you have an option to click on "send message" via the blue button, thus:

As I said in my PM they are probably some IoT devices.

Hi Keith

Thank you for all the messages which I can read and now understand how to reply, as with this post.

As I’ve said, I do not understand how forums work and I do not know how to PM you. Forgive my ignorance, nobody has ever explained things to me.

Regarding the two mystery devices I will pause them within eero but in my mind, I’m clueless as to what devices they could be.

Hi @Keithios

Another way to identify these devices is to block one of them via the eero app (easy to unblock afterwards) & see what does not work anymore. Conversely, turn off (one at a time) anything in your property that does not appear in the Devices list.

@Keithios. anything you post in the public forum can be read by anybody in the world - you'll see your own posts even when logged out.

So you just need to be sure not to post any personal information details in the public thread. Your profile area is for that, accessed via your avatar, settings, Personal information. SAVE CHANGES.

If asked by staff, you can send information to them by private message.

Ah now I have found how to reply to you. I’ve been lost in various forums before and given up. Is this private or public?

So I identified one of the three mystery connections, put it in online mode and re-named it.

The two others seem from the same source. Both are still online but I really don’t know what they are.

The details are attached.

Thank you for much for your help.

Keith

You need to look at its MAC address to find a clue to what this device is. If you want to PM me (to protect your privacy) that MAC address, I can look up who made it, which should help identify it.

The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.

KeithFrench is one of our valued Community Stars and can help with a range of issues related to wireless and networking. At times, he may ask you to send him test results via a Private Message to help analyse/diagnose an issue. Although Keith does not work for TalkTalk, he very kindly shares his time and knowledge to help others.

If you need further help or if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account, like phone numbers, account numbers, etc, one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Delete it from the app, then when you use the device again it will add again and you can then rename it.

The Eero doesn't recognise every device that you attach so name those you to recognise and it will be easier to spot new ones.

If you are worried it's an unauthorized device you can always rename your WiFi, but that means logging in on all devices again.

Please remember to mark Solved Posts with Best Answer. Doing so helps other customers and saves TalkTalk's Support Team time by only looking at unsolved topics. Thanks, Steve (a fellow customer).
