Bridge Mode Sagecom Fast 5364?

There doesn't appear to be a way of turning on on bridge-mode for the router? I have a Pfsense firewall sitting behind the router and want to avoid double NAT etc. Does TalkTalk have a way or are willing to enable this for my connection/router?

I said modem only, which means modem mode, @KeithFrench

I also said 'TalkTalk will not encourage', not 'TalkTalk will not allow'. I know TalkTalk allows.

That's why I said he has to do some experimentation.

Just a further thought @Alphamajestic . If you do have Full Fibre then you can use any router of your choice connected to the ONT with any configuration you choose. The setup will be down to you, obviously, but the support team here can help with a profile change if required.

Hi @Alphamajestic

If you turn your TT router into bridge mode, then you will have no internet access at all. The whole point of bridge mode is to turn a router into a layer 2 bridge, disabling all routing functions. So you would never be able to route from your private to the public IP network.

What you want is modem mode.

However, no TalkTalk router supports either. TalkTalk (unlike what another community member who posted on here) has always allowed you to use 3rd party routers & modems.

It has been known for a long time within this forum, that the TalkTalk Hub, as it is called, cannot be set to 'bridge-mode' or modem only.

It has also been known that TalkTalk will not encourage customers to use non-TalkTalk routers.

Further, not many people here would know or have used a Pfsense firewall.

It seems you will have to do your own experimentation.

OK, that's not really an answer. Maybe Google could be your friend? Other search engines are available. Or ask your firewall supplier?

As mentioned in my post. I have a pfsense firewall and have no need for the TalkTalk router to do anything, other than pass the public IP. This would avoid the whole double Nat scenario and double forwarding rules etc, etc
