I have just had a Full Fibre installation but the old copper wired connection and open reach box is still installed.

Who disconnects this?

Up to and including the box is officially the property of OpenReach.

I assume by disconnect you mean remove as the line should be disconnected from use at the same time as fibre was installed.

OpenReach are not removing old copper wire as standard. Generally any wires in your home after the box are yours to remove, up to the box are OpenReach property.

However I doubt that OpenReach will object if you remove wires within your property , at least I hope not as I've done this, and you could argue you were decorating and wanted to have a clean surface. Note personal opinion.

TalkTalk have no control over the removal of such lines.

If your external wiring is visible, such as from a pole, and you want it removed for decorating or building works, you can contact OpenReach direct and request the removal.

An online form to complete can be found here.

I expect OpenReach will eventually get round to removing old equipment, but their priority is getting customers connected to fibre and keeping the networks running.
