If you go through Jobcentre Plus you may get a free tariff for 6 months, @Elisa14, if you qualify.

Ordinary Fibre35 packages are subject to the £4 increase each April.

So do more research:

Of course Fibre 35 is slower than Fibre65, but I wouldn't have thought that would be much of a worry  - you'll be getting twice what I get for downloads and a decent upload speed. Mine is perfectly adequate for using YouTube,  Facebook,  emails, admin etc.

Thanks @KeithFrench  I have spoken to them. What they said was l should use fibre 65 and l should you use fibre 35!! I didnt get a proper answer how much difference in speed etc for my need.  They just kept putting me trough to a new department when l asked for clarification. Got put back through to the tech dept as soon as l was put through to another department by the tech depth!😂😂 Chatted to tech depth 4 times and no proper answer

Thanks @Gliwmaeden2

Im on fibre 65 at the moment and paying £27 / month and they said it would be £21 for fibre 35. They couldn't tell me if that price is forever or if in 6 months they will increase it. Im in two minds if its worth it for £6....

Hi @Elisa14

The Community no longer has TalkTalk support staff on here. You will need to contact TalkTalk directly about this. Please see my signature for TalkTalk's contact details.

Check whether there's actually any difference in price, @Elisa14

Often what determines Fibre35  / Fibre65 is simply your actual line.

It will be a perfectly usable level of service  - still much faster than Fast Broadband (Talktalk's slowest!) and that's perfectly adequate for ordinary internet function.

Bear in mind that they'll be wanting you to upgrade to Full Fibre before long and then you will need to stipulate if you need VOIP for your phone - copper lines are scheduled to cease next year.
