I have a question. I am upgrading from fibre 150 data only and copper phone line to full fibre 500 voip.   I am currently  using Eero 6 but told nit compatible with fibre 500 and I will be sent a WIFI Hub 3  postage at my cost.......

Googling has mixed reviews as always. Is the wifi Hub 3 bettwr to use or should yhis upgrade be given eero routers of a higher model I.e. 6 Pro or something?   And is the Hub 3 going to give me a good reliable connection  upstairs and extension back of house?

Hi @Dazzler1976

You can connect them together, although I wouldn't recommend it because they will never work in a mesh. To save me looking back over a longish thread, which one is connected to the fibre ONT?

The TalkTalk Community has now moved to a peer-to-peer support model. This means that the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support. NB. Online Chat is now available after logging into MyAccount.

Thank you yes I am plugged into the green voip socket.  Never had as many problems since changing routers. Then I recalled some people on eero site saying about bridge modes etc. Tbh I just want it back how it used to be. Basically  I was wrong to upgrade and not leave them this time as they have wasted so much of my time causing g me to burn out 😔

@Dazzler1976 are you trying to use both the Hub 3 and Eero?

If you have VOIP use only the Hub 3 and plug the phine into the green socket.

If you want to use the Eero you need a grandstream device to do so. TalkTalk no longer supply these for VOIP connections and the Hub 3 is the only router now supplied for VOIP.

I don't believe you can combine the Hub and Eero to work in combination but maybe @KeithFrench can confirm.

So sorry to hear this, @Dazzler1976. Unbelievable how stressful these situations can become. And we never get our hours of time back either.

Hi sorry for delay been a nightmare. I did a few test on wifo and wired and were low.  I sepen today over 4hrs on chat past around the iffice like 3 times.  I was told my old 150 plan was still active so j would have been billed for 2 packages. Then had tk get loyalty to cancel before they could check current 500voip then to be past back to say can do it as I have an chive line issue and need it to be cancelled which was just done. Know o e knew what the he'll they were doing just wasting my time to this time I'm gonna leave and go elsewhere. Its been the worst time ever I've wasted over 14hrs in total to these people. I should still be on cooling period if new plan but even if charged I can't take it anymore. Useless isn't the work it's disgraceful.

Sorry angry 😠

Always check all Homesafe settings when some sites that usually connect don't, @Dazzler1976.

Hi desperate  for help 😭🙈.  So ipgrade happened openreach installed new box.  Said ut was all connected. Which did look connected. Hub had a purple dot  thought strange then the house ASD SON HAD meltdown.  So spend over 3hrs chat to talktalk 4 department back and forth then 9pm logged out.

Basically  my boys plays their games on android  phone Roblox.  But I am on there too I know what they do so monitored.  We're playing no problem  before upgrade. Now whenever  they try to load it it say unable  to vonnect to server..... it works perfectly  fine on mobile data but on WiFi connected through hub it doesn't work not even when search roblox login via Google. Amazon eBay login loads no issues so something must be blocking it.  They said check homesafe or parental setting as only I can access it! It's only since upgrade. Anyone have any ideas as my household went nuts tonight I'm shattered.  How do I find it on my account  and does anyone have idea 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

Exactly  I will certainly repost the outcome  and or if any issues 🙏

Probably not, most providers run on Openreach cabling in any event. Either way, the installation will take care of it.

Is it a question of replacing the ONT or will it require an additional line into the premises?

That's fair enough  wasn't sure.  I will make sure cupboard  is out to give them enough  space then. Much appreciated.

If City Fibre installed the previous ONT then Openreach will replace it with one of their own.

Yes, hole drilled in front hall and cable run to ONT Box, from connection box outside where fibre cables are. Openreach carried the work out. Took a few hours.

Hope all goes well with the up-grade.

Thank you for reply.  Did open reach have to upgrade ONT box?  Apparently  they're coming as per usual assess area pull in cable drill into house for ONT.  We already have 1 which city fibre put in so unless needs upgrade  poss wasted visit.   Just need to know if my cupboard  needs moving.

Hi @Dazz  I was using the Eero,s until I up-graded from FF150 to FF500 and was sent the Hub 3. Bit dubious in swapping over but I did and have no issues with it now. Had to contact the FF Team to get a few devices connected, but all sorted.. About 15 devices connected all over the house but haven't checked the signal in the garden as yet as it,s not warm enough yet to sit out, maybe next week as we usually get our summer then.. 🙄

HTH.
