Is there any way to turn off or dim the LEDs on the wifi exender (without resorting to black tape)?  The LEDs are very bright at night.

And is there any way to access the settings for the wifi extender?  Although there is a label on the bottom of the unit with its default wifi and web admin access codes, there doesnt seem any way to actually log in to the unit and get to the setup page.  (Obviously not necessary for normal use as the unit connects seamlesslessly and just works - but it would be nice to be able to get some access).

No, that is the Hub 1, the Hub 2 is the 5464 and was the first hub that TalkTalk used from Sagemcom that has a Digital Voice Phone port on it.

Thanks Keith.

My TalkTalk hub TalkTalk hub (F@ST 5364-3) must be the Hub2 as it only has WiFi5 and the buggy SG4K100208 firmware without any logs.  This is why I prefer the Shell Energy supplied router.

The newer TalkTalk Hub3 is basically the same model as the Shell router (F@ST 5359) but with TALKTALK specific firmware (SGEK10004800) as we discussed in a previous post.  Both have WiFi6.  I understand my Shell router will not get updated beyond its current firmware (SGEK10003200) to the same level as the Hub3.    I could purchase a Hub3 from TalkTalk but would not gain anything other than future updates.

I will deploy black tape to dim the WiFi exender LEDs !!

As far as I know, the firmware on the Hub 3 variant used by Shell Energy will not be updated. The current Hub 3 (also Wi-Fi 6) uses the TalkTalk for everyone branding and the firmware may well be different to yours. My bug list is only related to this later TalkTalk version of the Hub 3 and so may be totally different to any bugs you may come across.

Log in to your router & find the main WiFi configuration, anything like WiFi config once made on the hub should be reflected in the 266. All status management is done via the Wi-Fi mesh tab of the WiFi configuration.

I do have a TalkTalk hub (F@ST 5364-3) but currently use the Shell Energy supplied hub (F@ST 5359) which works perfectly with the F@ST 266 WiFi extenders and has the benefit of wifi6.

The light control on the hub has no effect on this. I have raised this as a bug. All configuration/status reporting on the 266 is done via the hub. Which hub do you have, 1, 2 or 3?
