Recently had full fibre installed, with the black upright book type router. WiFi range to the rear of the house is poorer than the previous copper cable white router. Does talktalk have a recommended solution?
Thanks, Ian

Hi @icurnow
One other thing I forgot to mention. Assuming your router is the Wi-Fi Hub 3 (that matches your description), the product you want is the Sagemcom FAST266 Wi-Fi Booster. Please see my sticky on this, as the instructions supplied with it are possibly still wrong:-

Hi Keith,
Thanks for reply. Yes I have checked via looking across hands and have moved the 2.4 to the empty space in the middle, as other locals were using high and low band areas.
Do you know how I would go about getting one of the extenders you mention? Are they free from TT or should I just prime day a mesh system?

They do market a WiFi booster that will turn it & your router into a mesh network. They are very good. However, this could well be down to a simple channel change on your Wi-Fi Hub 3. You do not mention which WiFi band was in use with the old router, where your devices were faster & which band those devices are connected to now.
Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal or no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment; this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.
Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers a lot more from interference than the much faster 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz band can sometimes have a better range; however, this all depends on your local area.
In other words, I offer a free, impartial analysis of your Wi-Fi network and will try to help you optimise your Wi-Fi connection. The next stage involves sending out a guide to help you get me some important diagnostic results so that I can analyse them for you and recommend changes to your router configuration to solve them.
I only send this out to people who request it.
