Hi, had a 5364 on fibre 65 for years. Upgraded to fibre 150 and was sent a 5359 (though told I would get an eero 6! ).  Everything I read online suggests the 5359 is much older and not as good.  Anyone know why I would be sent this?

Thanks

Yes, you are correct @benny55

The TalkTalk Community has now moved to a peer-to-peer support model. This means that the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support

I think you’ll find that Sagemcom released more than one 5359 product. This particular one, as currently being supplied by TT,  was originally the standard 'Shell Hub', when they were in the ISP market. However, Shell has subsequently being absorbed into TalkTalk and they appear to have adopted the 5359 as their standard go to rather than Eero.

Hi @coutinho @Adamfmc

Whilst we try & support TalkTalk products, we have no influence over what they buy in or the manufacturer's model numbers. Of course, as I said in the past, you need to go by what TalkTalk calls them:-

WiFi Hub (5364)

WiFi Hub 2 (5464)

WiFi Hub 3 (5359)

If you use the TalkTalk names, it is far more obvious that the WiFi Hub 3 is a newer, greater product than the original WiFi Hub.

No idea. I just ask the questions 😆. Of (probably very little) interest,  back in the day,  Renault brought out the Renault 6 before the Renault 5.

You'd have to ask them that!

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

This has been helpful. However I don't understand why Sagemcom would use a lower model number for a newer product. How did that happen?

"Everything I read online suggests the 5359 is much older and not as good." Where did you see that? Beware what you read online!  😉

Thanks Keith. That's a far clearer explanation than I received from TT.

Hi @coutinho

You are misinformed. The eero has been replaced by the WiFi Hub 3 (FAST5359). This is a WiFi 6 router with the latest security mode - WPA3. It is the standard router now for Full Fibre.

The 5364 is the WiFi Hub 1 and is the much older model. If you need any tech support on any of these three different routers, I can provide it.
