hi, i have upgraded my broadband to the full fibre 150 package and are using the eero 6 router which was sent in the post. i have successfully set everything up but some devices will not connect. the houshold has around 10 devices so it should be ok with this amount, however after contacting talktalk via telephone the advisor stated that the eeros 6 is limited to 7-8 devices maximum. on the website it states up to 75 devices can be connected. which is correct ? why do some devices connect and others not, we have a mix of wi-fi and ethernet devices using an unmanaged switch. the ip addresses in the dhcp range keep changing also, for example the ip range starts from 192.168.4.2 but some devices have random ip addresses like 192.168 .6.20 etc. is that right ? i have factory reset everything a few times. ive been trying to sort this all day. can someone help please.

OK, if you are using an ethernet switch I can't explain why that isn't supporting multiple devices. Do you have the switch directly connected to the eero, rather than the ONT?

hi ferguson, many thanks for your reply. yes i thought the talktalk advisor was incorrect about the limit of connected devices. i have tried the method you said with the 5ghz paused, not sure if my issue will be helped by that but thanks its useful to know that. my main issue is that my desktop and the boys laptop cannot be connected via ethernet switch at the same time. it seems that if he gets connected then i cant and vice versa. its a random thing so its really whoever comes online first gets the connection. also the odd random wi-fi device wont connect either, so everyone can connect their mobile devices but one person cant ? it doesnt make any sense. ive done all the relevent checks, configs, setups, compatabilities etc but no joy. im beginning to think i may have a faulty router as ive had a line test done which is fine.
another thing i noticed while in the eero/connected device & port details, the ip address keeps switching between ipv4 and ipv6 ip addresses. not sure if thats normal ?
thanks again

First of all, that advice is nonsense. Any modern router, including the eero 6, can easily handle the number of devices you have mentioned.
If you have any wireless devices that can only connect at 2.4GHz that can sometimes be an issue. There is an option in the eero app to temporarily allow such connections, see if that helps.
The apparent random allocation of internal IP addresses is nothing to worry about.
