Crackling on landline, broadband totally OK

Hi,

When I pick up the phone the dial tone has a loud crackle, which interestingly seems to go when the call is connected.

After a call the crackle has gone from the dial tone, but comes back after a couple of minutes of non use.

I did run the online line check which came back as no fault, but the crackle is still there over the dial tone.

Broadband download speed is not affected at all, still getting the normal download speed of around 45 Mbps, but upload seems a bit slow at 3 Mbps

Yes, unfortunately we have lost about eight 20ft leylandii that were screening the bottom of our garden from a new estate that has been built next to our boundary. Went down like dominoes.

And they've fallen into our garden, which can be considered lucky I suppose.

Hi again,

Hopefully we'll know more soon. Are you currently affected by the heavy winds and rain?

Thanks

Michelle

Good morning,

All I have got is a text stating that an engineer has been allocated to investigate.

I think they are going to be busy after last night.

Good morning,

No additional updates back from Openreach as yet. We'll re-check again this afternoon.

Thanks

Hi Steve

This fault is still with the Openreach line engineers, we will continue to monitor for further updates.

Thanks

Hi Qwghlm

I'm sorry to hear this.

I've completed a line test and this has detected a potential line fault so  I have escalated this straight over to Openreach to be investigated by a line engineer.

I will monitor for additional updates from Openreach.

Thanks

Debbie
