Crackling on phone line

Hi since cancelling call safe I have had crackling on my land line, mostly from my end, but sometimes people who have called me, have said I keep breaking up, I need my landline as I only have an old pay as you go mobile, I seem to be forever on here with problems with any help would be appreciated.

A line test has picked up a fault so I'll pass this to our network team for investigation.

We have requested an engineer to go out to the exchange in the next 48 hours. 

We can check the fault ticket on Friday for an update.
