How do I keep my TalkTalk landline if I move to another supplier for Fibre Broadband?

I am thinking of moving to zzoomm for my internet service as they now provide fibre in my area.

If I move I might want to keep my landline phone service.  How is this managed and how much does it cost?  Anyone know?

The quality of my landline phone is poor and a real hassle getting the right OpenReach engineer to resolve problems.  Not worth keeping?

I think just giving it up is probably the way to go. The copper lines are going to be made redundant before too long anyway and apart from a few of the larger established ISPs, most of the newer ones show little interest in providing a VoIP service.

Personally, we already find ourselves making zero use of our landline. And the younger generation, like my children, don't even have one and I am not sure they will ever see the need.

I remain a wee bit concerned for certain of the older generation, though, such as my 93 year old father-in-law, who has no interest, or need for broadband, but relies on his landline to keep in touch and for a personal alarm system. I hope people like him are not forgotten  and are presented with a simple and reasonably priced alternative going forwards.

Thanks.   for landline equivalence zzoomm recommend https://keep-in-touch.uk/

This offers VoIP for about £5pm using your mobile.  Free to callers in UK.

I now think I will give upon my landline when I cancel my existing internet service with Talk Talk.  It is such a hassle trying to get voice phone line issues resolved.  Move everything over to my mobile.

TalkTalk do nor provide any standalone landline packages. And Zzoomm do not appear to have a VoIP service available.
