Landlline not making or accepting calls to and from landlines

Hello,

I am able to make and receive mobile phone calls. If a landline rings me or I call a landline, the phone goes dead or says number unrecognised, but yet the person I'm phoning or phoning me can hear me.

I really need to be able to speak to family on the landline so desperate to sort it.
