Need to cancel caller display and last caller barring but not on Account page

Due to my landline being transferred to UW wef 1.1.26, I need to cancel the currently free services of caller display and last caller barring but they do not appear in the 'manage add-ons' so I cannot cancel them. UW will charge me for these services and I don't even use the landline any more.  Previous similar post was answered and actioned by Staff who removed the services from the person's account.  Please advise.

If you mean has anyone from TT replied and sorted my query, then the answer is no.  Query remains unresolved.

@DinkyDo, what UW calls Last Caller Barring is not the same product as Talktalk's of the same name:

1000029922.jpg

Talktalk's allows you to bar ANY unwanted phone number, including ordinary landline numbers. These are not included in UW's offering, which is why Talktalk has mentioned the nearest equivalent that you could choose in UW's range.

The information is not in fact contradictory at all - you just need to take the details in, as it's rather fine-tuned, and not helped by the fact that the name of the product  matches different content for different providers.

I still don't think there's any urgency, as Caller Identity Display doesn't carry a charge with UW and you won't be put onto a Choose to Refuse or Anonymous Call Reject unless you specifically ask for it.

Thanks.  I'll have another go at trying to contact TT before the deadline.

@DinkyDo, it looks to me as though the Last Caller Barring feature [ & Callsafe, incidentally,  which you can't hold simultaneously with Talktalk's Last Caller Barring anyway] are NOT called by the same name with UW and if you wanted either of them, you'd need to ADD them proactively AFTER the switch over.

I think the whole point is that the add ons are not equivalent to current Talktalk options so will not be transferred automatically with your service. You'd have to OPT IN once switched over.

No mention of Caller Display, which you mentioned in your subject heading, in the email.

OK, thanks for clarifying. As time is short and the holiday period intervenes I think your best bet is to contact customer services directly and explain that you are you unable to do this via My Account, they should be able to do it for you.

Not being transferred until 1.1.26 and advises that unless I want to pay UW for previously free add ons, I have to cancel them before 1.1.26.  HOWEVER, they are not listed on the add ons page so can't canel...........I'm going round in circles.  Now I see that UW's tariff guide is at odds with the TalkTalk email advising me of new charges..........could this get any more muddled?

As you have been transferred, it seems that you should contact UW directly.

The tariff guide ex UW seems at complete odds to the email I received on 27/11.  The whole transfer comes over to me as a complete muddle.

Thanks for this.  I tried the number you gave and ended up receiving a text linking me to an online agent.  Try as I might, they insist I'm trying to cancel my phone line so not getting anywhere.  Described it every which way I could but the term 'add-ons' had them stumped.  I will try and find the said email.

Are you sure that UW charges for Caller Display and Last Caller Barring, @DinkyDo?

On this page Caller Display is listed as free:

I can't see Last Caller Barring, as such.

Can you quote the email that you received [taking care to remove personal details]?

Much obliged.  I tried Chat first but all I got was 'Loading.....'.  I can see thousands of TT customers being charged wef 1.1.25 and not even aware of it unless they scrutinised the email advising their customers.

If you want this done straightaway, call 03451 720088 before closing time today, @DinkyDo, which is 6pm. Not open Sunday.

Try Chat, if you don't reach phone support today.

It's an ongoing issue that appears to be getting worse, not better, in My Account.
