During lockdown a lot of people ordered second lines as they were actively promoted by Talktalk [now 5 years ago!] to help with working from home etc.
However, with the switch to ful fibre, new copper lines are not being promoted as "the latest thing". It would have too short a life due to the switch to full fibre with VOIP.
The full fibre router can only take one phone line plugged into the router.
