An engineer came today and confirmed what i already knew, the fault is external.
I get a call from TalkTalk to say an engineer will be out on Fri. And confirmed a time for me to be in, and if i wasn’t I would be charged £75. Why would i need to be in if the fault is external?? Going round in circles, much like their site!
Then I get a text from openreach that an engineer will be out and most faults can be fixed going through checks, go to link. I’ve done this, an engineer has done this and now they seem to think, go to a link and go through the same checks again. 🤪
The openreach text then said, if this is the case (I’ve gone through these checks and fixed it), reply with 'FIXED’. I replied to the text saying 'Can you ring me’, I got a reply 'thanks for that', now I don’t know if the engineer is coming out or not and do they think it's fixed??
The TalkTalk representative wouldn’t talk to me, he would only talk to my wife, very annoying!!
This is an absolute joke, we’ve had no phone for over a month and it was the same a year ago.
If you are reading this TalkTalk, 'GIVE ME A CALL' 😠

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and for the experience you had with our representative, we are unable to discuss the account with a non-account holder if security verification has not been passed. However on my end the appointment is still showing booked and fault status is pending, not fixed. The engineer that attended to your fault today was a TalkTalk engineer and the fault has now been escalated to an Openreach engineer:)

Thank you so much for the support @fr8ys
Hi there @Granny2Fedup Looking into your account an appointed Openreach has be booked for you for the 29th of August 2025 AM slot which is between 08:00 - 13:00, This type of engineer requires you to be home, as they require access to your property. However, if the issue can be resolved outside the property the engineer will no longer come to the property and you will be sent notification advising fault has been cleared.
