Problems calling EE Voicemail from Home Phone

For sometime now I am unable to check my EE mobile voicemail from my TalkTalk Home Phone as advised in this link here from the EE Mobile Phone Website: Check and Use Mobile Voicemail | Mobile Help | EE.

Calling the number 07953 222 222 (as mentioned in the above link) from any TalkTalk landline results in a dead tone but calling it from any other telephony/mobile service provider including TalkTalk Mobile works.

Wonder if anyone has had this issue too and whether it might be problem with the TalkTalk  landline network?

At this moment I suggest that you wait for the team to get back to you and we can then look into it if it is still not sorted.

Thank you Phili, wonder if the repairs are to do with the issue I had on 4th May instead - where there was no internet connection and auto fault check on the line came back with no fault further troubleshooting by me led to me replacing the router with another one after which the internet connection was back; swapping back to the original one resulted in no internet connection again meaning the original one had become faulty and so now using the other router instead.

Thank you Philli (and to Keith) for your response.

Actually it sounds like that a TT complaints staff member that has logged the case after my experience of going round and round in circles with this issue for quite sometime.

I wasn't made aware that the case logged by the TT complaints staff member is visible though my online account until you mentioned it as until now I only had an email with a complaints reference that covers other issues too. So Thank you.

Hi @Philile-TT

I have already asked this customer to try turning off the Withhold Number boost, but that didn't work. The customer is not calling another person, but trying to call his EE Voicemail retrieval number.

Oh Okay. Did you try to turnoff Withhold Number?

If the person you’re calling has an active service that automatically rejects anonymous calls, you won’t be able to get through. If you’d like to speak to them, try disabling this feature.

Thank you Philli for your response which is greatly appreciated.

This issue is not about TT voicemail services but about not being able to connect to EE voicemail service from TT landlines using EE's supplied mobile voicemail number (link to their webpage with that number in my original message) that allows remote access to EE voicemails from another number or telephony service providers (including international) rather than dialing voicemail from the EE mobile number itself.

Will greatly appreciate further help from you to get this resolved.

Thank you Keith. I have tried withholding the number being called from by prefixing '141' and still the same i.e. dead tone, which I think means that EE cannot be objecting to VM being accessed remotely from a TalkTalk landline. Calling from a family member TalkTalk landline also results in the same issue.

Incidentally, the Manage Home Phone Boosts from MyAccount has not been working for me for more than 2 months. I am informed that its a master incident and it being worked on with no set timeline for it to be once again functional!

If you or anyone is willing to help further by calling the EE remote VM number 07953 222 222 from a TalkTalk landline than that might assist further in troubleshooting. Anyone can call it with or without a EE mobile number to check that it can be accessed, when successfully connected it asks for the mobile number followed by the # key at which point the call can be terminated.

I do not know if EE object to this when accessing a VM remotely or not.

This might be worth checking:-

In MyAccount, what have you set Withhold Number to in the Home Phone calling boosts (under Privacy Features)? If this is turned on, your landline will not forward its own number to the EE Voicemail number. Probably all of the landlines that you have tried this on are forwarding their own number. Mobiles always forward their number.
