I have been abroad recently and my mobile would not allow me to make calls but my internet roaming worked.

How do I get the phone to work?

Are you sure you were roaming, rather than connecting to free wifi which is available in many areas? Either way, if you have TalkTalk mobile and wish to use it abroad you should get in touch to enable it before travelling:
