Kids safe not working!

I have used kids safe successfully over the last few years checking the various boxes of subjects which I wish to be inaccessible to my children ( such as things as, pornography, weapons, drugs, self harm). I have been able to turn it on and off successfully and when required it has blocked access efficiently.

However recently I've noticed that it is not blocking access to these sites anymore even though all the relevant boxes are ticked and I've had an email notification that kids safe is turned on and it is also ticked up on my dashboard. I have been in touch with TalkTalk customer services who have twice attempted to remedy the situation and each time have instructed me to turn off my router and turn off my devices and then start them again. They also said they would "fix things their end". One of the times it did appear to block access again, but only for a short period.

Just wonder if someone out there can help, as if this persists unfortunately I will have to change Internet providers? Thanks

Ok before I raise a fault ticket for this please turn the router off overnight and let me know what happens in the morning.

Hi Ady, I have now cleared my cashes, updated my kids safe so that it is on along with scam protection and turn the router off for over an hour and back on again.I’m afraid KSAI have now cleared my cashes, updated my kids safe so that it is on along with scam protection and turn the router off for over an hour and back on again. I’m afraid kids safe is still not working and blocking the sites that I have ticked. I can’t understand why it worked for five years perfectly well and is not working now. Any other suggestions? I’m on the verge of leaving TalkTalk as I can’t have this going on when I have children in the house. Thanks.

Usually 30 minutes is the recommended minimum period to start a new session at the exchange, @Mike-Blue21.

Hi Ady, thanks for your post. As a result of your suggestion I've tried turning the router off for 20 minutes. I've also tried clearing my cache. Neither of these have worked so I'm now in the disappointing position of having to consider cancelling my subscription as I need kids safe to work. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi Mike_Blue21, how long did you have the router turned off for? The reason for doing this is to get the IP address to change. Sometimes the settings stick even after a router has been disconnected.
