BBC always goes through iPlayer

This problem started some months ago. I have the Netgem box. When channels selected takes ages to go through iPlayer. Very frustrating. 

I see others have posted on this issue.

Is there a solution?

This is as expected behaviour and usually occurs when the signal strength drops.

 

The solution is to use the channels in the 100 range, eg 101 for BBC 1. Not only will this resolve the issue, but if you have an HD or 4k TV, the picture quality will be noticeably better. This holds true for all the HD channels in the 100 range.
