New TV Box offer

I received an email offering me an "update to the latest TV box" as my current one is no longer supported (though still works perfectly well).  I clicked the link and it immediately ordered me a new box which I cancelled straight away as there were no details about the type of box.  I know there are several models so I don't know what I would get.  My current box records and I wouldn't want to lose this.  Does anyone know what this offer of "the latest TV box" means?

Please return to the message board to open your own thread for support from Talktalk staff, @BowBelle.

Click on the blue START A TOPIC button near the top of the board.

It's very important to start a separate thread, to avoid confusion between accounts. Staff will respond after the weekend.

@BowBelle

Please start your own thread as each case is considered unique and it is easier for support to be given to one person per thread and also less confusing.
To start your thread click the Browse button, then Help With Your Service and select the appropriate category. You will then see a Blue Button "Start A Topic"
Please also note that you should only post back on that thread and not start another on the same topic as multiple posts cause delay to you and others seeking help.
Thank you

Hi mandisa1 we have just received a new Netgem 4k box to replace our existing one. Can you confirm this box will record all programmes not just the current one and will all recordings held on our original box still be available to view through the new box . Thanks

Yeah, that remains there as a support tool for anybody who still has a legacy box.

Thanks.  I was looking at this page, which includes 2 boxes that do record but I've just realised that one of them is the one I have already!

I wrongly assumed it was a guide to current boxes.  I will stick with what I've got.

The new box would be the tv Hub as its the only box TalkTalk now offer.

It does not record. Its basically a streaming box with a tuner.

You can add additional apps though.

If you have a smart tv, or a firestick, then you probably already have this ability.

If your happy with your box recording then I'd carry on using it.

There are a limited number of boxes that now record, such as the EE Pro Box or Manhattan T4R.
