Still no replacement TV box after being promised one on 3rd September, I've now been without the TV package I'm paying for for over a month. Not happy.

Mainly streaming from On Demand - iPlayer, ITVX, All4, My5 etc plus some digital channels ITV3 & 4, Drama, Yesterday etc.

Downloading, or streaming? You can download what you like, given enough time. For streaming services the minimum required is around 25Mbps. Extra headroom is advisable if anybody else in your home wants to use the internet at the same time.

But will Fibre 65 cope with downloading 4K content?

So TalkTalk need to remove the redundant info about the TV Hub - it's misleading

You can't, they don't make them anymore. Your only option is to ask for the 4K box as previously advised by @Karl-TalkTalk. And a 4K box will work with any TV with HDMI ports as I mentioned before. If you do get a new smart 4K TV then it will probably have all the apps that you want built-in. But do check, especially at the so-called budget end of the market.

As I'm paying for TalkTalk TV can I please have a replacement box for the Huawei DN372T that died - I was offered a TalkTalk TV Hub for £25 (and yes, the details are still on the relevant bit of TalkTalk's website) but is it still avaliable?

I've had not access to non-terrestrial channels for nearly a month now and I'm inclined to ditch TalkTalk TV and get a Freeview Play TV and / or a Freeview Play box.

I'm likely to get a new TV soon anyway and I need info before I make any decisions - but I need TalkTalk to step up and refund the engineer charge (he said the box didn't work (before it then failed completely)) and said he would recommend TalkTalk to send a replacement box. Also TalkTalk should and charge less for the TV I'm not getting.

If (and that's a big if) I go for a TalkTalk 4K TV Box - I'm on Fibre65 so will a 4K box work or not if I get a 4K TV?

The TV connects to the TalkTalk router both wirelessly and wired but won't play BBC iplayer - say the page is unavailable (Also it says the software is up to date!)

OK, to be honest I wouldn't bother connecting it up. An 11 year old TV is a bit of a dinosaur in tech years! If you are in the market for a new one do look out for the ones that include major streaming services such as Netflix, that way you will have a self-contained solution. Otherwise, as I said, you can get plugin devices like a Roku which could give your old telly a new lease of life. And are quite handy to have as an option anyway in my humble opinion.  🙂

I'll try connecting to the router tomorrow - but I still think an new TV will be in the offing.

There are apps but not the ones I use (iPlayer, ITVX, Ch4, Ch5, Netflix) or want - some I've never heard of. The TV is my Dad's old one and is about 11 years old.

You have mentioned that it is a non-4K TV, so I was assuming, perhaps wrongly, that it is not a so-called smart TV? If there are apps on board, by all means connect it to your router by whichever means it allows and see how you get on.

Could I just connect the TV to the TalkTalk router either via WiFi or wired instead?

Or just get a box compatible with TalkTalk (but not from them)?

OK. Netflix will still be supported, but do bear in mind that you have to pay a monthly fee to TalkTalk to get one of their boxes. If you are just looking for adding streaming services to your TV then you can buy a one-off device that may serve the purpose just as well. My personal favourite is Roku, other devices are available.

I subscribe to Netflix and got it on the old TV box but not at 4K, I don't think it will be an issue unless Netflix goes 4K only.

Yes it has several HDMI sockets

Does your current TV have a free HDMI socket? If so, then the box will connect and you can use most of the various apps on it. If not, well, it may be time!

Oh well, looks like a new TV as well as a new box!

The box will still work, you just won't be able to access any 4K content on your TV. But that would only be an issue if you subscribed to certain premium services such as Amazon Prime, or Netflix.

What you were offered is simply not available.

There is always a rental charge with the 4K, but if your TV is not 4K ready, it looks like this option won't work for you anyway.

I was offered a TalkTalk Set Top Box Lite for £25 and told there would only be a one-off charge and no increase in the monthly subscription - is this still true?

I have Fibre Plus 65MB plan so a 4K box might not work, the TV is an old Philips one that is not 4K in any case.
