TV box fails to record programmes or play back previously saved recordings. When the record button is pressed or a future program set a pop screen shows recording has started but when viewed in My TV it shows programme has failed to record. Similarly previously recorded programmes are listed in My TV but will not play and all I get is a blank screen. I have switched off and un-plugged the TV box and re-booted it but the problem remains. I have performed a software reset and a factory reset (keeping recordings) but still the problem persists. Does the TV Box need to be replaced, it’s now several years old, or is there anything else I could try?

The recordable TV box is no longer available from Talktalk, so you would need to source one elsewhere, @tank49.
That also means removing the TV charge when you return the box.
So get in touch on 03451 720088 to discuss your options.
