For years I have used the talktalk TV box with my samsung TV. Unfortunately my samsung stopped working and I was talked in to replace it with an Amazon Fire Toshiba TV. Unfortunately we cannot get the talktalk tv box to connect to this new tv.
Can it be connected or do I no longer require the talktalk tv service?

There should be no reason you can't connect the box to the TV providing it has an HDMI Port you can connect the box to.
Have you tried an alternative HDMI input to the TV?
As you say it's an old box, I'm assuming it's a YouView one and the information that follows is based on this.
One difference maybe how the aerial is connected to the box if you previously connected one or the other using the loop function, i.e. you have one aerial lead connected to the box or TV and a lead then connecting the other device.
If this is the case, then connect the aerial to the box first, then to TV.
As said you will need to ensure you have an HDMI cable connecting the 2 devices. On the TV select the source button that corresponds to the TV input name.
If nothing shows try a different HDMI cable
It maybe that the HDMI cable is of an old spec that the TV can't cope with, so do try another.
Have you managed to connect other devices successfully like a dvd player? If so try taking the lead out of the dvd player and insert it to the TV box.
Unfortunately these boxes are reaching end of life but it would be a strange coincidence if the box failing just because you have a new TV.
One further thing to check is does your TV have adjustable settings on the HDMI sources? Some do so it might be worth checking.
Also, some TVs need a device to be "installed" to be managed by the TVs remote before working correctly. Check to see if yours does.
Hope this helps.
