After retuning..  200+ plus channels, then drops to around 100.

then changes my choice of location, which then creates a poor signal and a screen prompt to say my area choice has poor signal .

The weather is playing havoc with digital signals at the moment.

It's best not to retune during these times but it's not widely known, so the temptation to restore missing channels is great.

Turning to your immediate issue, try removing the aerial and then returning. You will get no channels but it will clear any memory the box may be holding.

Then put the aerial back in and retune. Hopefully you will be able to get the region stored correctly and once the weather pressures return to normal the box will update any missing channels.

One further thing to try to check the aerial is ok, is to plug it directly into the TV and check the channels the TV gets v the box. If the same and it doesn't improve over the next few days it may indicate that the aerial is failing and you may need to consult a local aerial installer.
