I have lost a lot of channels, when I retune I can get 46 or 102 but none of the BBC chanels are available, not sure what else is missing . I have turned off  both hub box and router and retuned many times in the last 24 hours but no change. I have a TV upstairs which is run through my old sky box and can get all chanels on that so must be my TT connection?

Yes, thank you.

And as an added bonus I can now get my regional news without having to go to IPlayer.

When changing to TT I had not been able to get the local news as my default and had  tried all ways to get it to no avail so evidently re setting my TV has solved that problem too.

Perfect 😊

I hope you mean on the box rather than getting the channels on the TV.

Signals are broadcast on different wavelengths and some are more sensitive than others.

Your symptoms suggest either weather issues or a fault developing in your aerial or lead. Water ingress to the aerial causes corrosion over time. I've had this issue myself a few times over the years.

It's for this reason you need to check the aerial and retune on your TV because if it's evident on the TV with picture breakup or missing channels then this points to the aerial rather than a faulty box.

I seemed to have fixed it! I went in, plugged the ariel into the TV and re set from the TV remote, as if starting again... and I now have all the channels back. No idea why this has sorted it but, I now know to to this is all else fails again. Thank you all for taking the time to respond. Have a good day.

Thank you - I will be trying your suggestions. Just a little confused as to why some freeview channels are available and others not? ie. ITV, 4, 5 etc are available. Any idea?

@LAH123

As I said on the other thread you posted on

One thing I can say is it is nothing to do with your TalkTalk connection as the channels are Freeview over the aerial and nothing, apart from catch-up apps are reliant on your internet connection. There is also no correlation between a sky signal and a Freeview one.

What happens if you take the aerial out of the box and plug it in directly to the TV and retune? Do you see the same or similar loss of channels?

If so this points to an aerial issue that if it persists will require you to consult a local aerial installer.

I say if it persists as Freeview channels can be affected by weather extremes so I'd leave it say 72 hours to see if the channels reappear on their own or with retuning.

If not then consult an installer.

If the signal to the TV is fine, with no picture breakup or loss of channels after a retune, then double check the aerial is seated firmly in the box, and prrotm a retune. Do this first without the aerial in placed. This will clear any residual memory in the box, then replace the aerial firmly and retune.

If that does not help then do a factory reset if the box from the settings menu.

If that does not work then the Bax may have become faulty and require a replacement in which case support staff should then be able to help as you will then have carried out all testing.

Let us know how you get on and please confirm the outcome of each of the steps outlined above.

Thank you

Hi there @LAH123, I'm really sorry about that. As you've mentioned you are using a sky box upstairs and it has no issues, please confirm if downstairs you have another TV Box from TalkTalk? Which is the one giving you issues when accessing your channels.
