My phone line has been out of action since Jan 6. The response from talktalk has been limited to either talking to BOT or to other persons who say they will look into into it.To say that I’m fed up is probably polite

Hi

The broadband will work as the service you are on is fibre to the cabinet, then copper line from the cabinet to the home.  The section of copper line that is at fault is on the E-Side, so that is the line from the exchange side.

Hi Karl, thank you for the quick reply. The downside of what you say is that we use the landline for all of our calls both in and out. As we only have PAYG top up for the mobile not a smart phone but a brick which we use only when one of us goes out and we can be in touch with one another. As we are both in our late 80s there are also contacts with family members who use the  home phone our local doctors surgery and hospital, we now have to  contact those and tell them to call us on the mobile. It is upsetting to say the least and worrying as to what phone calls over the period up till now that we could have missed and won’t be able to reply to..
A little bit of confusion for me is where does broadband etc join the phone lines as we are still able to view tv and use the

laptop

Hi

This case has been passed to Openreach however work is required on or near the carriageway, possibly dig work and this has been assigned to their Contractors MJ Quinn to commence work however they are advising due to the scale of work required, the next update will be provided on 31st.
