Tried to opt out of the £16 unlimited calls add on that suddenly appeared on my bill, which wasn't there before, said it was successful but may take a few hours to show on my dashboard, almost a week later it is still there, so I've tried multiple times to remove it to no avail. this is ridiculous, I'm trying to opt out of something I don't want to pay for and it just isn't working!

If you contact customer services directly they should be be able to remove this for you, details and opening hours here:

Alternatively, if you would like the support team here to help then make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number and/or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that they can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond. Bear in mind that they won't be back online until Monday.
