I had no problems until last week when a BT Openreach engineer came to do some work in my street (nothing to do with me). Since then I have had constant, repeated broadband outages and a severe crackling on my phone line.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problem with your service. Line test is picking up a potential issue and showing a lot of disconnections. How many telephone sockets do you have? Do you have anything connected to your telephone socket(s) in addition to your router and one telephone?

Hi @PoppyRossi how frustrating, the team here will pick up your post shortly and get Openreach to sort it out. It should also be possible to get things moving from the service centre in "my account".
