Can't sign in to network

I've connected my router but when I try to use the wifi I get a message

saying sign in to my network.

When I tap on the message I get a blank page.

Typing 192.168.1.1 in my browser just takes me to a page of websites.

I can't get the router admin page so I can't use my wifi.

Tech support can't solve this.

Any ideas?

Does the connection still times you out while connected or requests for you to login?

Having done some diagnostics with @tubby885 I have cleared up all the confusion. The customer is connected to the WiFi network OK, but whenever a website is accessed in the browser, a connection timed out message is received. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support team to pick up your thread and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday), excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent, you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number (TalkTalk Phone or Account number box )and, if possible, an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture and then clicking on "My Settings" followed by:-

Thanks for those. Any personal information you put into this forum can be seen by anyone in the world, even the bad guys out there. Please always send them via a PM to preserve your privacy.

For some reason, I was not able to download any of those screenshots. Please send me a PM with the name of the WiFi network that you are trying to connect to and in there, tell me the make/model of router that you have..

I think you might be a bit confused. You can't, according to those screenshots, be connected to your WiFi network at all. Without being connected to your Wi-Fi network, unless you have connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, you can't be logged into the router.

The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.

If you can now log into the router, surely from what you have said before, this is over a wireless connection? Therefore, WiFi must be enabled on at least one Wi-Fi band. If you want to check both bands, I need to know which make/model of router you are using, as the router's user interface can be different on each of them.

I asked before, please get me a screenshot of the error that says about you being connected but I have to sign in. There should be no need for you to log in to the router, just to get internet access.

I've connected to the internet with the WiFi network and password.

My device says I'm connected but I have to sign in.

Tech support said I need to sign in with user name "admin" and router password(on back of router and different to WiFi password).

I should get the router sign in page by typing 192etc into my browser. This is what I can't do . . .

WiFi must be enabled; it does not matter about mobile data, as WiFi should take preference over it when connected. From what you have said, you cannot connect to the router's WiFi. Is this correct?

If the router is in its default configuration, the correct WiFi network name and Wi-Fi password are on the label on the rear of the router.

You cannot connect to the router via mobile data, which is blocked by the router's firewall; you must be connected to your WiFi.

You will need to sign in to the WiFi to connect to it. Have you set it to automatically connect when in range of this network?
