Huawei DG8041 Router Trouble

Good Morning,

 

I've been having WiFi trouble for around two weeks. I can connect devices to the router but the speed drops off from around 65mbps to sub 2mbs after a few minutes up to a couple of hours after resetting the router, which we're doing several times a day. I've tried doing a factory reset, and also had a chat with a technician a week ago and went through the diagnostics. We didn't find a fault on the line and they said they would monitor it for 24 hours. They also updated the router software. They said it would be kept on record if you need the details.

 

I was wondering if I could try a test router as this seems to be the issue.

The issue has been resolved for now thank you. The engineer mentioned we'd need to upgrade to fiber to the property in the future.

Thanks I'll send it back. It's 55Mbps to the router, and the guaranteed is 59Mbps. I've just had a message to say an Openreach engineer will be coming out to take a look.

Yes please can you return the old router using the pre paid returns bag.

Good Morning Michelle,

 

The new router seems to be working fine so far, although the broadband speed is slightly less than the guaranteed speed at the moment.

 

Should I post the old router back now?
