Hi, I'm replacing my ISP provided router and am having trouble setting my Netgear D7800 Modem Router with the ISP username password not being accepted.
I see for TalkTalk accounts the user name is defined as below with no password required:
Setting Value
Username | This is your telephone number followed by REMOVED |
Password | We use automated network authentication so there is no need for a password. You can leave this blank. |
As my existing ISP router is from Shell Broadband which has transitioned to TalkTalk, can I confirm which I should details I should be using?
I've tried the username of my phone number (with and without the initial 0) and both domains @talktalk.net and @First-utility.com with no success.
Appreciate any guidance.
Thanks.

From a TalkTalk network perspective, the username & password are no longer used & haven't been for years. All authentication is done at the network level. What happens with the Shell network, which you are presumably still connected to, I have no idea.

I am not employed by TalkTalk, I'm just a customer. If my post has fixed the issue, please set Accept as Solution from the 3 dot menu.
