Increasingly frequent reboots required for Huawei-HG633

I understand that any equipment or connection may from time to time require a reset and until recently the odd reboot hasn't been a problem.  Unfortunately it is now becoming a much more frequent problem, with the router requiring a reset to restore internet connectivity on an almost daily basis.

Upon resetting it does connect back up, line speed is same as it always has been, and nothing has changed with devices connected or using the router, so I suspect it is just a hardware issue with the router.  Im pretty sure I have had this router since 2016 or so?

If a replacement router is available I would be very grateful for it!

Hi,

Yes that sounds like a great plan!  I will get it installed as soon as it arrives and return the original one promptly.

Thanks everyone for your assistance - much appreciated!

Good morning,

Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes to rule this out? We would also send a router returns bag so that the original router can be returned.

Thanks

Due to the age of the router, it might be best to get it replaced first  I will ask TalkTalk to consider this when they return on Monday.

Hi,

I have one device with an ethernet connection to the router, the rest are wifi.  I hadn't looked closely at the lights to be certain, but I think from memory one is always red - I think the internet one.  The rest green.!

I will try and do some more checking when it next occurs, but its hard because if it happens during the day my wife will reset it whilst I am at work!

Is there something I should be looking out for specifically with this router?

When this happens, what are the lights showing on the front of the router? Do you have any wired connections & if so, how do they perform?
