How can I get an update, router keeps restarting.

So I am not getting the update as promised, that is just great.
Sent the new router back because it does not work for me. Has weak signal (standing in front of it) and cannot work with smart devices on 2G.
Any suggestions or do I just change my broadband supplier?

We have been told by our devices teams not to push any updates for this router and all current firmware will remain on v1.05.

Not sure why nobody understands this as I got this information off talktalk community.

Did receive one, busy in the process of sending it back.
It cannot connect all my smart things, not a single light or plug could connect to 2G, could only connect 5G to my Nest mini's. My phone did connect to 2G, but showing poor quality while standing in front of it.
Cannot see how it is a upgrade if it is far worse than the one I have.

Finally got through to someone to help me on Saturday.
Update should be pushed hopefully in this week.
Will be returning the new one that was sent out as it has poor quality signal and does not allow my smart things to connect.
