I guess this is what you mean by starting your own thread for this issue? Thanks for any help you can give! Ive attached the most recent Internet speed we're receiving. Please advise.

I have just realised that you posted your MacBook's serial number there which is probably not a good idea, so I have removed that particular image for your own security.

Um, that says macOS Sequoia 15.5, as I said?
@KeithFrench Perhaps you could help here, it doesn't look like the poster has/will try a wired test.

I understand, Our tests show the speed to your router is good - achieving 12MB; while the minimum guaranteed speed is 8.1 MB. But the speed test from your device was below this - at 7MB.
This indicates a possible issue with the device you tested from, or an issue within your home.

You can get to My Connection here. BTW, there isn't a macOS 16.8, the latest version is 15.5.

How do I check my network and if it’s using 2 G ?
where do I go for My Connection???
on 18-06-2025 03:22 PM
Do you want to continue the checks or you can adapt your network to get the most out of your WiFi yourself

I can see that you have some device/s connected to 2.4GHz frequency rather than the faster 5GHz frequency.
You can check the devices that connected using 2.4GHz in the My Connection
The 2.4GHz frequency can travel much further and go through walls more effectively than 5GHz. However, traffic from other common household devices can limit your overall speed - for example cordless phones, baby monitors, garage door openers or your neighbour’s WiFi.
Older devices may only be capable of 2.4GHz, so check if your device supports the faster 5GHz. If it does, then the device may be too far to get a strong signal, or the walls and other obstructions are too thick, so it has dropped to the slower, but more stable, more stable 2.4GHz frequency.
Making changes to get a good 5GHz signal is the best way to get the most out of your Broadband and WiFi connection.
You may also refer to your device vendor's help pages on device capabilities - as older devices may be limited to a maximum of 11 meg, though most modern devices would typically see up to a maximum of 100 Meg on 2.4GHz radio. If you have devices limited to slower speeds the rest of your devices may also be limited to that speed, to ensure the older devices can connect.

Yes I was able to run it on my phone this time - even weaker signal

Could you please tell me if you have a laptop or a computer which is currently physically connected to the router (uses the Yellow cable) or a computer/laptop that could be connected like this if needed?
on 18-06-2025 02:31 PM
Just through WiFi
on 18-06-2025 02:26 PM
Are the devices you are experencing problems with connected to the Internet through WiFi or via an Ethernet connection, wired directly to your router or a combination of both?
on 18-06-2025 02:24 PM
