Hello community,
I think my router has died.
I have a solid orange light after a long flashing orange then flashing orange and white. The wireless is not broadcasting and I am not able to log in via a LAN cable, it just says: communication error with the gateway. Leaving it off for around an hour, doing a hard reset, changing the filter and trying it in the rear port of the telephone box has made no difference.
I've reported the fault but am more then disturbed by the fault timeline saying "check back in a few days", does it normally take that long?
I have seen a post on here about a "communication error with the gateway" problem - is this a common issue? Could someone please advise where I can find my broadband username and password so I can install a new router myself?
Thanks for your time on this bank holiday weekend!

Hi
As we use network level authentication, you will not need a username and password for the router however some routers do expect one during setup. In this case you can simply put your home phone number @talktalk.net and for the password something like 12345678.
Give this a try if you are setting up your own third party router.
Thanks
Karl.
