Overcharged from door salesman vs online

My mother is being charged £50 a month for Full Fibre 900, yet online it’s £36 a month?

Why is that ?

I’m quite annoyed as I listened to the conversation over my CCTV and they said it was a reserved pre order? And if we wanted to cancel it could simply be done over email but it’s been far from easy. Passed around from department to department, each person saying they’re not equipped to handle my query.

Hi

Special offers will pop up from Time to Time, with all providers. My advise would be to call up, ask to speak to customer Loyalty, mention the offers and that you are looking to cancel, and ask what they can do for you.  The loyalty team may have offers they can discuss to persuade you to stay.

Keep calm and negotiate is the best way to secure a good deal.

Karl.

We can all get pipped at the post with special offers popping up after we have agreed a deal, @Domh929.

It doesn't necessarily mean that she was cheated in any way on the doorstep, and there is always an element of "buyer beware" in this scenario.

I make a policy of not doing any deals, ever, on the doorstep!

However, if your mother needs staff support, you need to complete your own community forum profile details and add her details too.

Better still, if she signs into the forum in her own right, as you yourself may be subject to further security checks.

Please go via your avatar/name; settings; personal information, to complete your own details. In Private Notes, at the end of that section, add your mother's name, address,  landline number and account number. SAVE CHANGES.

Anywhere I look, I see the £49-ish price, @Domh929:

Where are you seeing the much cheaper offer?

Cancellation can usually only be done by phoning up.

Did she keep the paperwork?

Talktalk's own website shows this, @Domh929:

That's near enough £50, given they do say that prices vary by location.
