PortForwarding for a gameserver

Trying to set up an Ark server for my kids,we can see it locally and runs/plays fine,but when the kids try to connect from outside the home they cant see the server,i opened ports 7777 7778 and 27015 and set the server machine with a static IP, Routers your HG633 any help would be greatUntitled.pngUntitled2.pngUntitled3.pngUntitled4.png

Thanks, that looks OK from memory. How are you testing this, port checking websites such as:-

 

https://portchecker.co/ 

 

These are not compatible with UDP, they only work with TCP, so will always report as closed.

 

If you are trying to connect to these servers, from another device locally connected to your HG633 and specifying your router's public IP address, will also fail. That is because nearly all TalkTalk routers block any NAT Loopback IP packets. If the router detects a packet coming into it from the internet, that has originated from any of the locally connected devices, will be binned.

 

What you need to do, is to test from a smartphone, having first disconnected it from your WiFi, forcing it to go out over mobile data.

Hi @Lmore 

 

@Chris-TalkTalk has asked me to help you with your port forwarding issue. Your screenshot shows the Application that you have configured, but have you set up the appropriate Port Mapping rule, without this it will not work? If so please include a screenshot of this.

 

This router is very old by today's standards, you would probably be better off with the current Sagemcom FAST 5364.

Also set the machines firewall to allow the said ports and the Arkserver exe
