Does anyone know of a way to update router firmware from home?

Firmware looks to have upgraded last night to 100136 but router can no longer connect to internet and struggles to even allow a logon to it locally. If I do get to the dashboard menus are no longer working either, so is swapping out router the only option?

Many thanks,

Nigel

The HG633 should work fine 🙂

Quick question on this. I've dug out an old Talktalk HG633. Will it still work as a temporary replacement, or could it mess with my line speeds etc? Cheers

Hi Nigel,

I've ordered a replacement router, it should be with you within a couple of working days. Apologies for any inconvenience

Thanks Chris.
Unfortunately that has made it worse. Reset ok but router appears to be in some sort of loop now, not firing up properly at all, cannot log on to it.
Router tries to connect to internet (orange then white flashing), my PC gets 1 or 2 pings from it, then time outs. Router then just flashing orange. 10 seconds or so later the ethernet cable shows unplugged for a second as router reboots I guess and the loop begins again.

Router was on SG4K10002816t firmware and when I was able to connect to the login screen this morning it showed SG4K100136 so I'm pretty certain that hasn't applied properly last night. House went offline at 1:55am.

How do I go about requesting a replacement router urgently please (I work from home so reliant on my broadband).

Thanks,

Nigel

Thanks, tried that this morning. Left it off for nearly an hour. No change.
Was going to try a factory reset next, worth a try do you think?

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

Could you switch your router off and leave it off for at least 30 minutes, then switch back on and retest - please let us know how you get on
