Our phone system was knocked out by last week's storm. Afterwards we found we could either use internet or landline only by unplugging internet and using a corded phone, or unplugging the phone to enable internet usage. We bought a new cordless phone, (Gigaset All Rounder trio) same as we had previously, and changed the micro filter. Although things are again functioning and the phone sound settings are set at a maximum, when making calls the sound quality is not very good. Prior to this the line was tested but no result has yet been given.

I'm sorry to hear this.
I've completed a line test which hasn't detected any faults.
Is the phone currently connected at the test socket?
If you have tested with different phones at the test socket and the landline fault is still present then the next step will be an Openreach engineer visit to the property.
