Trying to cancel talktalk

Basically I have been trying to cancel my TalkTalk as found another deal. However talktalk told me to speak to virgin media so virgin media could speak to talktalk to cancel but virgin media said they cannot do that so I rang talktalk and then they said I need virgin media to speak to talktalk again but they still said they cannot do that. In the end I spoke to talktalk on live chat and they in the end told me to get a ring back from retentions to end my contract. They said they will ring back 48HR but its passed that time now. And I am still getting an email saying I need one of the team to speak on there behalf to cancel but both teams say they don't do that?? 

 

Driving me up the wall!!

 

Any help much appreciated

Yes place an order with Virgin asking them to take the number off us we will see a request to cancel your account.

Possibly too late if it wasn't part of the original order with Virgin, @Aaronc123, but worth speaking to them again. 

 

However, you do need to use the Talktalk number for checking the cancellation details anyway:

 

03451 720088

 

Don't wait around for callbacks after using Chat. You are much better dealing directly with the loyalty  / retention team yourself  (for cancellation).

 

Then Arne-Talktalk can double check again for you.

Hi thanks for the reply I spoke to talktalk yesterday about VM taking my landline number was abit confused do I now ring VM to tell them to do that?

The only reason VM would contact us is if they are taking your landline number, is this the case? 

 

There is still no cancellation on your account.

Phone and ask for the loyalty team as cancellations cannot be processed via this forum.

 

As I understand it, moving to Virgin, you need to give notice to TalkTalk yourself.
