Since i became a new customer I've had problems with a slow connection. I restarted the router and it was ok for a few hours. Now my wifi name has disappeared from available networks!

Can anyone help please? Without internet connection i cannot use my hub account to access the router.

Hello,

I'm really sorry to hear this.

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Do you have any devices that can connect to the router using an Ethernet cable ?

Thank you. I have reset the router x3 now. No other devices can connect as network name is not showing to connect to!

192.168.1.1 wont open and network settings on tv says router is disconnected, even though its plugged in and showing status is good. Problem started on tv settings when it said i wasn't connected to internet. Now it won't even connect to router.

Looks like i will have no internet this weekend....

Hi @Carolina99,

It is possible this could be caused by a problem with the router, or it could just be Wi-Fi interference, i.e. a neighbours router broadcasting on the same channel as yours, in some circumstances this can cause enough interference for you to lose visibility of your network completely. What model of router do you have ?

In case the router is having problems, it might be worth trying a factory reset by holding in the reset switch on the back for over 10 seconds.

Do you have any devices you can connect 'wired', if so can they access the internet and the router settings ?, if you can get to the router settings using a wired device, can you see if the Wi-Fi is showing as disabled ?

If the Wi-Fi is enabled and the network is sometimes visible and sometimes not, then Wi-Fi interference is the most likely cause. If that is the case you could try changing the channels that your router broadcasts the Wi-Fi signal on, you can use free smartphone Apps like this to see what channels are being used within range of your smartphone, you can then change your router to use channels that are less congested.

The Support Team on this community won't be around until Monday now, so you may get faster support by using the live chat or calling customer services on 0345 172 0088 over the weekend, however the Support Team here should respond to this topic early next week to help if you are still having issues.

For one of the TalkTalk Support Team on this community to be able to look into this you will need to update your community profile to include your name, landline telephone number that your TalkTalk service is provided on & an alternative contact number. This will allow them to identify you, and they will then be able to help.

Don't post any personal details in this thread, just add them to your community profile (only you and the TalkTalk Support Team on this community can see your profile details).
