No problem @Michelle-TalkTalk, it's a difficult situation, hence why I thought it best to draw it to someone's attention.

Hi @ya0148

Whilst I can't help you with the WiFi Booster and your router, I might be able to help you sort out your WiFi reception issues. This might get a bit involved, because I have no knowledge of your router. I think it best if you create a new thread so that I can help you & @mention me into it, or PM me with a link to the new thread. Please give as much detail about the issue & include the make/model number of your router, perhaps I can find a manual online for it.

The information below is provided by TalkTalk, for confirmation please contact @Debbie-TalkTalk or@Michelle-TalkTalk.

KeithFrench is one of our valued Community Stars and can help with a range of issues related to wireless and networking. At times he may ask you to send him test results via a Private Message to help analyse/diagnose an issue. Although Keith does not work for TalkTalk, he very kindly shares his time and knowledge to help with others.

If you need further help or, if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account like phone numbers, account numbers etc. one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Hi @ferguson

My main interest here is the customer, but yes I fully understand TalkTalk policy over the Shell Migration team.

The customer made a reasonable request on here having got nowhere with that team and asked if he could get help from the forum TalkTalk staff. After all, if they can't (which he didn't realise), what is the point of them having access to the forum? So why did I escalate this to the support staff? Well in my notes I outlined the totally incorrect way that he had been supplied the Sagemcom FAST 266 WiFi Booster, in the hope that it could be fed back to the Shell Migration team.

Absolutely reasonable assumption initially. But it turns out that the poster is a former Shell Energy customer with a non Sagemcom router, as became clear as the topic unfolded. So your advice sadly didn't apply.

Hi @ferguson

The subject title is that this 266 Booster is not connecting via WPS, with no mention of being an ex-Shell customer. I did assume that he had a Sagemcom router, isn't that a reasonable assumption? If the title was could not connect a 266 to a Shell or PO router, then I would have known that from the start.

@KeithFrench

It had already been flagged up. Are you not aware that the support team here are unable to assist former Shell Energy customers?

@ya0148

You seem to have missed my post just earlier, the support team here cannot help with former Shell Energy customers.

As a former Shell Energy customer you need to specify that when contacting customer services. Sadly, the support team here are not able to help at present.

Go back to them & tell them that the 266 is a booster, not a router & is totally incompatible with the router you have. It can only work with the Sagemcom FAST 5364 or 5464 routers.

I have asked CS to replace my old router due to very poor wifi coverage (less than 1mbs - ethernet works fine) and this is what they have sent out..

You do have either of the Sagemcom 5364 or 5464 routers do you? Have you enabled WPS on both bands within the router's UI?

I notice that in a previous topic you mentioned you had been with Shell Energy, which make/model/firmware of router do you have?
