Dear Talk Talk,
Please can you help. I am having intermittent DNS issues whereby my devices have internet connectivity but are unable to resolve any hostnames. I can resolve this issue by logging into the router --> internet settings --> advanced --> set DNS to manual/automatic, but it will only be resolved for a few days before the issue reoccurs and I have to change it back from manual to automatic or vice versa.
This issue started around November 2021.
I have also tried to set the DNS servers manually on the devices which again will work for a few days before eventually failing.
The isses occurs with 2 windows laptops and 2 Android phones.
I note this user also experienced the same issue - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Fibre/DNS-issues/td-p/2617040
Kind regards.

Hi Guy
I've ordered the Huawei hub because I can't say for sure how long it will take for the FW to be updated.
The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive. Let us know how you get on.
Thanks
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Sure, but is it not worth trying to update the firmware as suggested by 'Skynet_TX' below. I'd like to go for whichever solution is fastest.
Kind regards.

Hi GuyLaking
Thanks for your reply.
The line test is clear so I think we should send a different make and model of router.
Would you like me to arrange this?
Thanks
Debbie

If you are using firmware version SG4K10002816t (you can see this near the bottom of the login screen at http://192.168.1.1/) then this is a known issue, a newer firmware version will resolve the problem, but the rollout of the new version is a bit slow due to some other issues that are being investigated with it.
The support team here may be able to push some newer firmware to your router, but if not there is another workaround you can try (I have currently got the workaround applied to my router and it has been working fine for many months now), so if it is not possible for the new firmware to be pushed out to your router I can provide more details of the workaround you could try, but probably best to wait and see what the support team here say tomorrow.

Hi GuyLaking
I'm unable to connect to your router. Are you using a Sagemcom WIFI hub?
