One I was given and been using for ages with copper broadband. Now gone to fibre which works well with new TT router, but though I would try old hg533 one, tried all 3 connection types (adsl, fibre, auto) but no connection and fibre light does not come on. Phone lead plugged into adsl socked, red socket one marked fibre is Ethernet same  as lan 1-4.

Hi @computerman

The HG533 router was supplied as a fibre-ready router but requires the Red WAN port (marked Fibre) to be connected to a VDSL Modem that in turn is connected to the incoming telephone line.

The currently supplied Wi-Fi Hub and Wi-Fi routers have a VDSL modem within the unit and do not require a separate modem to connect to the incoming telephone line.

I trust that explains

Hi @computerman

You said your part-fibre service was working well now with the new TT router.  You were just exploring possibilities with the HG533 device. I assume I've answered your topic ok?  Is there anything else you need from the TalkTalk team?
